Introducing the Aspect Finder: Target the Exact Aspect You Need
Tired of burning through Obols or Cube materials hoping to land that one Aspect you need? We've just launched the Aspect Finder, a new tool that compares Aspect pool sizes across every item slot in the game and shows you the most efficient way to target any Legendary Aspect.
What Does It Do?
The Aspect Finder analyzes every Aspect in Diablo IV and shows you:
- The best item slot to gamble for that Aspect, factoring in both pool size and Obol cost
- The best item to upgrade in the Horadric Cube, including whether a Tuning Prism is worth using
- A recommended strategy: gamble Obols first, then use non-Legendary results as crafting materials in the Cube
- Class-specific recommendations, since different classes have access to different item types, which can change the optimal strategy
How It Works
Every Legendary item in Diablo IV rolls from a pool of possible Aspects. That pool changes depending on the item slot, your class, and the Aspect's category (Offensive, Defensive, Mobility, Resource, or Utility).
The Aspect Finder crunches all of this data to show you which item slots have the smallest Aspect pool, giving you the best shot at rolling what you need.
Important: Gambling vs. Cube
These two methods work differently:
- Obol Gambling can produce items of any rarity: Common, Magic, Rare, Legendary, and more. The pool sizes we show only apply when the gamble rolls Legendary. Your actual per-purchase chance is lower.
- The Horadric Cube always produces a Legendary when using "Upgrade to Legendary." The pool sizes we show are your true per-craft odds.
We display both methods side by side so you can compare, but the numbers mean different things, and our tool makes that clear.
Gambling Recommendations
Not all gamble slots cost the same. A Ring costs 50 Obols while a Two-Handed Weapon costs 100. The Aspect Finder calculates the expected Obol cost for each slot, so even if a Ring has a slightly larger pool per roll, it might still be the better pick because you can roll it twice as often. Half the cost means double the attempts!
Horadric Cube Recommendations
For the Cube, we compare pool sizes both with and without a Tuning Prism. Prisms are valuable, so if the no-Prism pool is competitive, we'll recommend saving your Prism for something else. When a Prism does make a significant difference, we show both options so you can decide for yourself.
The Recommended Strategy
For most Aspects, the optimal approach is:
- Step 1: Spend Obols. Gamble at the Purveyor of Curiosities on the item slot with the smallest pool. This spends a disposable currency you're earning passively.
- Step 2: Use the Cube. Take the non-Legendary items from Step 1 and use "Upgrade to Legendary" in the Horadric Cube on the item slot with the best per-craft odds.
This way, your Obols don't go to waste; even the "misses" become crafting materials.
How to Use It
- Head to the Aspect Finder page
- Browse or search for the Aspect you're looking for, including keywords such as "Ultimate Skill" or "Lightning Damage"
- Click into any Aspect to see its full recommendation breakdown
- Use the class filter to see recommendations specific to your build
- Toggle between All Options, Gamble Only, or Cube Only to focus on your preferred method
An Example
Say you're a Rogue looking for the Agile Aspect (Mobility). The Aspect Finder might tell you:
- Step 1, Spend Obols: Gamble Boots, 1 in 41 Legendaries
- Step 2, Use the Cube: Upgrade Boots with a Pragmatic Prism, 1 in 12 per craft
- Cube without Prism: Upgrade Boots, 1 in 41 per craft
At a glance, you can see that using a Pragmatic Prism in the Cube dramatically improves your per-craft odds.
Data Accuracy
Our Aspect pool data is sourced from in-game analysis and community research. We do our best to keep it accurate as Blizzard updates the game. Gambling pool sizes only apply when the gamble rolls Legendary, so actual per-purchase odds are lower. Cube pool sizes are true per-craft odds. Actual outcomes may also vary due to possible hidden weighting and future game updates.
If you spot any inaccuracies, please let us know via Discord or at support@diablofilter.com.
The Aspect Finder is available now for all users, no account required. We hope it saves you some Obols and helps you complete your build faster. Happy hunting!
